TCM IRIDOLOGY

By Robert Teng-Fang Wu, L.Ac., O.M.D.

“The eyes are the gateway to the soul.” (Herman Melville)

In iridology, the study of the iris in diagnosing diseases, the eye is seen as the window to the body.  The overall condition of the body is reflected by the condition of the eyes, while the markings, patterns, and coloring of the iris reflect the manifestations and functions of body organs and systems.

Robert Teng-Fang Wu, one of the few TCM doctors in the world who is proficient in this diagnostic technique will share the basics of iridology in our upcoming course TCM Iridology in Los Angeles on June 22, 2008.  This class will only be given once this year.

Following are some slides from his handout.

Examples of iridology diagnosing

Example 1: Long-term use of drugs will result in pigmentation spots in the iris.

Example 2: Purplish-blue color on the border indicates hypoxia, poor venous return or poor peripheral circulation.

Example 3: Nervousness or tension appears as white rings around the iris as shown below.
