cultural misrepresentation

I'm wondering, emphatically, "who can I trust" or where I can learn about TCM that isn't horrendously misrepresented in the west.

Let's say "I live in a highly managed community" where false advocacy of any cultural alternative to the convention is prevalent, so that it is difficult for me to find any source of information about foreign practices that aren't skewed as nationalist propaganda.

As one may suspect, I am neither a licensed medical professional (beyond an expired CNA trade license) and am not pecuniously empowered by any means.

My motivation for pursuing TCM is an amount of nerve damage sustained in attacks - someone popped a nerve in the side of my spine, and my ears ring responsive ot my neck position. I'm not about to let a western doctor hack at it with antibiotics and scalpels.

I also have some nerve complex that runs from my left foot to my left hip that constantly generates sensations, although this seems to be the result of compounded, sustained attack by intention.. my enemies are engaged in occult practices which includes chanting to encourage my ears to ring.

This may not be everyone's most favourite post, but obviously I am a person with no other recourse as I have been confronted in this manner for several years.

I live in Tucson. How can I learn, or do anything to better myself, that won't result in greater detriment?

Thank you,
