Jimmy Chang Formulas

Hi Jimmy Lovers out there!! Here is a list of formulas Dr. Chang talks about a lot during his classes. It includes the single herbs that make up the formula and indications. To make the formula, mix single herbs in equal proportions.

Cold Breaker: San Leng (Rhizoma Sparganii), E Zhu (Rhizoma Curcumae), Wang Bu Liu Xing (Semen Vaccariae)
Indication: cold-type of masses and nodules

Dan (Gallbladder) 1: Da Chai Hu Tang (Major Bupleurum Decoction), Yin Chen Hao Tang (Artemisia Scoparia Decoction)
Indication: gallbladder-related conditions

Er Xian: Xian Mao (Rhizoma Curculiginis), Yin Yang Huo (Herba Epimedii)
Indication: Kidney yang deficiency

Openers: Dang Gui (Radix Angelicae Sinensis), Chuan Xiong (Rhizoma Chuanxiong) or Dang Gui (Radix Angelicae Sinensis), Sheng Ma (Rhizoma Cimicifugae)
Indication: constrictions; conditions with thin pulse

Gu Jian San: Du Zhong (Cortex Eucommiae), Gu Sui Bu (Rhizoma Drynariae), Sang Ji Sheng (Herba Taxilli), Niu Xi (Radix Achyranthis Bidentatae)
Indication: bone-related conditions

Hot Breaker: Xia Ku Cao (Spica Prunellae), Xuan Shen (Radix Scrophulariae), Huai Hua (Flos Sophorae)
Indication: hot-type of masses and nodules

Jin Ling Zi San: Chuan Lian Zi (Fructus Toosendan), Yan Hu Suo (Rhizoma Corydalis)
Indication: loosens / smoothens tight and twisted tubes

Ke (Cough) 3: Ku Xing Ren (Semen Armeniacae Amarum), Bai He (Bulbus Lilii), Zhe Bei Mu (Bulbus Fritillariae Thunbergii)
Indication: cough

Liu Zi Tang: She Chuang Zi (Fructus Cnidii), Bu Gu Zhi (Fructus Psoraleae), Jiu Cai Zi (Semen Allii Tuberosi), Tu Si Zi (Semen Cuscutae), Che Qian Zi (Semen Plantaginis)
Indication: Kidney yang deficiency

M3: Huang Lian Jie Du Tang (Coptis Decoction to Relieve Toxicity), Xie Huang San (Drain the Yellow Powder), Gan Lu Yin (Sweet Dew Decoction)
Indication: Stomach heat

Rooster Combo: Dao Di Wu Gong (Rhizoma Heliminthostachytis), Ji Xiang Teng (Caulis Paederiae)
Indication: anti-inflammatory effects for swollen, painful joints

Shen 1: Bai He (Bulbus Lilii), He Huan Pi (Cortex Albiziae), Zhi Zi (Fructus Gardeniae)
Indication: sleep conditions

Tan (Phlegm) 1: Fu Hai Shi (Pumice), Ge Qiao (Concha Meretricis seu Cyclinae)
Indication: cough with phlegm

Tian (Sky) 1: Tian Hua Fen (Radix Trichosanthis), Lian Qiao (Fructus Forsythiae)
Indication: Heart (shaoyin) fire

Tou (Head) 1: Bai Zhi (Radix Angelicae Dahuricae), Wei Ling Xian (Radix et Rhizoma Clematidis), Xia Ku Cao (Spica Prunellae), Shi Chang Pu (Rhizoma Acori Tatarinowii)
Indication: headache, nasal conditions due to cold

White 1: Xian Feng Cao (Herba Bidentis), Shui Ding Xiang (Herba Ludwigiae Prostratae)

Jimmy recently created a new formula called Jie Du (Detoxify) which consists of bai hua she she cao and ban zhi lian. He uses it for any intestinal toxins or skin toxins manifesting in rashes, etc. FYI

Thanks for the update Tina. Now is this formula for "Skin Rashes, etc" with a diagnosis of toxin [toxic heat?], or is the "Skin" useage just one of the uses hes mentioned, and that its actually for "Intestine Toxin" per se? Thanks for any clarification.
