Upon completion of this course, practitioners will:

  • Learn the major categories of autoimmune disorders and their immunological mechanisms
  • Know the immuno-pharmacology of specific Chinese herbs that can assist recovery and alleviate symptoms
  • Understand the major classes of environmental toxins that can lead to multiple chemical sensitivities

How to See 60 Patients A Day: Integrative Approach, Great Results by Robert Doane

Want patients, MDs and other healthcare professionals to be your best sources of frequent referrals? Learn integrative approaches to communication and effective care.

All great masters of Chinese Medicine have one thing in common - they treat a lot of patients. Clinical effectiveness has little to do with academia. Many great scholars in the field were not that clinically successful. Why? Because just memorizing books is not sufficient to succeed in practice. At best, textbooks are simplifications. Patient patterns of imbalance are almost never simple, but usually quite complicated, unlike a simple reading of textbooks would have you believe. Usually patients have at least five, and more often than not, seven or eight different co-existing patterns of disharmony. It takes a lot of practice to figure out how to effectively treat such cases. Consequently, the best way to master the medicine is to treat many, many people. You cannot do it, seeing five people a day. You have to treat hundreds of shoulders, backs, asthma sufferers, etc. to begin to grasp the most effective ways to deal with each of these conditions. In this seminar, Robert Doane gives you insights that greatly shorten your search for expertise in this medicine.

In the morning, Robert Doane discusses the business aspects of practice. He gives you tips on how to run a successful practice. In the afternoon, he helps course participants see how Jimmy Chang's common pulse diagnoses can be readily understood in western medical terms. Adjust your vision and communication: watch your effectiveness and your practice grow!

Upon completion of this course, practitioners will:

  • Know key steps in building a thriving practice and steady stream of referrals
  • Understand and be able to explain TCM to patients and allopathic practitioners from a scientific perspective
  • Be familiar with the basics of Jimmy Changs pulse diagnosis from a western perspective

Pulsynergy Made Easy by Jimmy Chang

Approved for 8 CEUs/PDAs by the State of California and the NCCAOM

Pulse diagnosis traditionally has been revered as Chinese Medicine's cardinal diagnostic practice by many Chinese medical scholars. However, because of the difficulty in mastering pulse taking, pulse diagnosis has unfortunately been reduced to confirming a diagnosis arrived by other diagnostic techniques, rather than being a reliable diagnostic tool in itself.

In this Pulsynergy Made Easy series, you will learn how to effectively utilize pulse taking to its full diagnostic potential from Jimmy Wei-Yen Chang, one of the very few (if not the only one) who knows and is willing to teach you the invaluable knowledge of how to integrate TCM pulse taking into diagnosing western biomedical conditions. Furthermore, Master Chang shares with you his thinking behind how he prescribes herbal formulations based on both TCM and western perspectives.

In Pulsynergy Made Easy Part I, Master Chang explains the fundamentals of pulse taking, including the precise cun, guan, chi locations, finger positions, and organ correlations. In addition, Master Chang covers the Wu Zang Mai (Five Organ Pulses), the body's original 'normal' pulses, which represents the exemplary physiological functioning of the body's organs; the Liu Qi Mai (Six Qi Pulses), the pulses which identify distortions to the body's homeostasis due to exogenous factors, such as dryness, cold, dampness; and the Liu Bing Mai (Six Pathological Pulses), pathological pulses in accordance to a yin and yang framework.

Upon completion of this course, practitioners will:

  • Be familiar with Master Chang's pulse diagnosis and techniques
  • Know the difference between jump and shape of pulses
  • Know what are the Wu Zang Mai, Liu Qi Mai, and Liu Bing Mai

Beyond that, Master Chang teaches how to diagnose disease patterns according to the Eight Extra meridians. The information divulged in this class cannot be found in any classic or contemporary books.

Upon completion of this course, practitioners will:

  • Know the most commonly seen pulses and their clinical significances in the LU, SP, and KI (Urinary functions) positions
  • Know the different 'Special Pulses' and associate them with modern biomedical conditions
  • Know the pulse locations and clinical significance of the Eight Extra meridians
