Bilateral swelling after needling

A new patient, and new to acupuncture: 5 visits, female, 50's, HIV positive, overweight / experienced swelling bilaterally in her feet twice after needling; no pain or discoloration, just swelling in a mound of approx 2" diameter. Tx chronology: weekly - First tx: just ears. 2nd: Lv 3 swelled, resolved after 3-4 days. 3rd: GB 41 no swelling. 4th: GB 41 was still swollen after 2 weeks. I am puzzled. I've been needling for round 20 yrs / am fairly good and sensitive and could better understand one foot, but both? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks

I don't know if your acupuncture is learned from a ghost place. HIV should try not to acupuncture. It is not swelling. Western medicine is called subcutaneous hemorrhage. Chinese medicine thinks it is gas.
