How to Treat Acute/Intense Pain Fast

To immediately relieve acute/intense pain, massage the ear first and bleed the ear apex. Then bleed the reflecting points on the ear. Then if the pain is not gone yet, add on more points using the Balance Method, Tung's or other techniques. Does anyone else have any other tips on how to quickly take away pain?

I have known many people who swear by acupuncture. However, how effective it is depends largely on the skill of the practitioner. There are lots of unskilled practitioners out there - and their efficacy is no better than the placebo effect, according to this article in the NYTimes: "In a meta-analysis published just a few years ago, researchers looked at all the accumulated randomized controlled trials examining how acupuncture fared in treating people with chronic pain. They found that not only did acupuncture work better than no-acupuncture control groups, but there were also significant differences between acupuncture and sham acupuncture. This suggests that not all of the benefits are placebo effects." If you're lost on how to find a good acupuncturist and don't have recommendation from friends, the site To Your Health, NY! has a comprehensive list of acupuncture practioners with reviews and ratings. Otherwise, if you have to resort to trial and error, don't give up if you don't have any luck with your first acupuncture experience. Try another, because the person you choose can have a tremendous effect on the success of your treatment.

I agree with the previous replies. Acupuncture is the safest method to get rid of an intense pain. it has the ability to reduce any kind of pain. I had got an acupuncture treatment for my muscle strain and sprain with the help of an expert in Dynamic physiotherapy and sports injury clinic in Burlington( http://www.dynamicphysiotherapy.ca/services/acupuncture/). It really worked for me. The only thing you should care before considering this treatment is the experience of the acupuncturist. Try to consult a licensed doctor for this treatment.

Hand acupuncture works quickly. Usually by the time the needles are in place, the pain is gone.
