How do we effectively identify people who have the highest risk of stroke? Is it patients who have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, or heart arrhythmia? Actually, the answer is none of the above. Stroke patients are the most vulnerable to having another stroke.

The treatment of stroke must not be limited to the improvement of brain function, motor and sensory function, language and speech process, etc. If another stroke happens, all the previous rehabilitative efforts are for naught. From the perspective of holistic medical care, conditioning the body to achieve the balance of the five internal organs will improve cerebrovascular and cardiovascular issues, helping patients to not only improve sequelae of stroke, but also reduce the risk of a second stroke. Dr. Chang will explain step by step his tried and true protocols on how to treat limb weakness, paralysis, speech and vision impairment, unconsciousness, and swallowing difficulties.

In addition, this class will teach how to use acupuncture to improve the awareness, physical function, and other related sequelae of brain injury patients.

Upon completion of this course, practitioners will:

  • Understand Western Medicine pathology on stroke and brain injury.
  • Know key TCM treatment principles on stroke, brain injury
  • Learn specific Organ Balance Acupuncture and herbal treatment protocols for stroke and brain injury
