Keiraku Chiryo describes a popular school of Japanese acupuncture that concentrates on the diagnosis and treatment of patterns of meridian imbalance. It is believed that treatment of the root imbalance should precede symptomatic treatment, and that doing so enhances efficacy and outcomes. Keiraku Chiryo developed in the 1930s as a revival of classical Nan Jing acupuncture. Its needle technique is shallow with thin needles, gaining patient trust and comfort. Patterns are determined using specific pulse diagnosis, and points are chosen both by the effect on the pulse as well as point palpation. In this video recording, Jake Fratkin, a practitioner of meridian balance acupuncture for over 30 years, discusses Keiraku Chiryo in terms of history, pulse diagnosis, pattern discernment, and demonstrates needle and moxa techniques within the context of actual treatments.

Upon completion of this course, practitioners will:

  • Review history of Keiraku Chiryo, Japanese Meridian Therapy
  • Learn classical Nan Jing pulse diagnosis
  • Learn diagnosis and treatment of basic patterns of root imbalance
  • Exposure to modern computerized approaches to meridian imbalance
  • Learn meridian sequence qi gong for optimal health
  • Learn qi gong exercise to enhance needle technique
