From a young age he sailed the eastern seaboard and lived aboard a boat in the Florida straights and Caribbean. Constantly interested in eastern philosophy and martial arts he would go on to pursue a degree in biology from the university of Connecticut followed by graduating from the Swedish Institute where he studied Chinese Medicine.

He opened and ran Po Chi Lam Clinic which was a high volume clinic which employed multiple physicians of Chinese Medicine and treated all patients who came through it’s doors regardless of their medical issues. In 2016 Marc closed the doors to Po Chi Lam and moved to Beijing to study Chinese language and culture, more Chinese Medicine and Bagua Zhang with Xu Shi Xi. In 2019 after studying with Xu Laoshi since 2013, Marc became the final disciple of Xu Shi Xi for his lineage of Yin Style Bagua Zhang. In late 2019 Marc worked at 國醫堂 Guo Yi Tang hospital in Beijing. It was then he and colleagues began hearing rumors of a new pneumonia surfacing in Wuhan.

After watching the slow and quiet events occurring in China with other colleagues in the hospital Marc went to Taiwan for Chinese New Years to visit family. It was at that time the events in China exploded. Not being able to return he stayed in taiwan for a month watching the measures Taiwan took. He decided to return to the US to lend help where he was able to.

https://www.elotus.org/bio/marc-mastrandrea#comments Marc Mastrandrea Thu, 30 Apr 2020 22:00:08 +0000 elotus 43534 at https://www.elotus.org Shang Han Lun Acupuncture, Part I https://www.elotus.org/product/shang-han-lun-acupuncture-part-i
$140

CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS:
8 CEU/PDA/CPD accepted by CA #383 (Category 1), NCCAOM (AOM-OM), FL (General), IL, TX (General), AHPRA, AFPA, BAcC, CTCMA, IVAS, NZASA, NZRA

COURSE TYPE:
Distance Learning CEU Video (Online)

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The first recorded “tradition” of Chinese medicine is found in the Shang Han Lun (SHL), which dates back to the Han Dynasty (200-220 A.D.). It is said that if illness is not treated properly then it will move through the body in a predictable way through the Six Stages. The Six Stages are Tai Yang, Yang Ming, Shao Yang, Tai Yin, Shao Yin, and Jue Yin. SHL is a theory of an invasion of the body by external factors which may lead to internal illness if left untreated.

Participants will learn an overview of the physiological and pathological understanding of the Six Stages as described in the SHL as a channel continuum. What sets this course apart from other SHL courses is that it will be presenting an understanding of the pathology and physiological response as these things move through the channels so that they are not simply groups of memorized symptoms categorized as a particular level in the theory but rather explain how these effects move through a channel system from one channel system to the next so that physicians of Chinese medicine can then be able to follow progression and project progression of a pathology.

Upon completion of this course, practitioners will:

To foster an understanding of the Shang Han Lun theory as a channel continuum

Understand how each layer works together physiologically and how things progress patholologically

Learn how to differentially diagnoses and treat patients with acupuncture using Shang Han Lun theory

Understand more clearly channel and point selection based on Shang Han Lun theory

This course continues with Part II, which is highly recommended for optimal learning experience. Click here to see Part II’s
