COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course explores the fascinating intersection of Qigong theory and Tung’s acupuncture, highlighting how understanding one can deepen comprehension of the other. Participants will learn core concepts such as the Three Adjustments and the Six Harmonies, which describe both Qigong practice and key needle techniques in Tung’s acupuncture. The role of the mind in treatment will also be examined, drawing from Japanese and Buddhist models of psychology, and participants will learn practical Qigong methods to combine with acupuncture to enhance therapeutic efficacy.

Dr. Henry McCann, author of Pricking the Vessels and co-author of Practical Atlas of Tung’s Acupuncture, is internationally recognized for his expertise in classical and Tung-style acupuncture. He brings decades of clinical experience and extensive teaching to help practitioners truly understand and apply these essential methods in their own practice.

Upon completion of this course, practitioners will:

  • Understand the fundamental connections between Qigong theory and Tung’s acupuncture practice.
  • Recognize the concept of Yi and its role in guiding treatment and intention.
  • Learn to apply the Dong Qi needle method effectively and flexibly in clinical practice.
  • Integrate practical Qigong methods with acupuncture to enhance treatment outcomes.
