COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Tongue diagnosis is one of the most important methods of “observation diagnosis” in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). By examining the tongue’s color, shape, and coating, practitioners can gain direct insight into the functions of the Zang-Fu organs, the state of qi, blood, and body fluids, as well as the nature and location of pathogenic factors.

This course simplifies tongue diagnosis into a clear, practical system that every practitioner can use with confidence in daily practice. Participants will learn how to apply tongue diagnosis to assist in syndrome differentiation, guide treatment decisions, and monitor patient progress over time. With real clinical examples, the course demonstrates how changes in the tongue can confirm pathogenesis, reveal underlying imbalances, and provide early warning signs of disease. By the end, practitioners will not only sharpen their diagnostic skills but also deepen their understanding of key TCM theories such as the holistic view and Zang-Fu meridian theory.

Upon completion of this course, practitioners will:

  • Interpret the tongue’s color, shape, and coating to identify TCM patterns and underlying pathogenesis.
  • Apply tongue diagnosis to guide clinical decision-making and optimize treatment plans.
  • Use tongue observation to monitor treatment effectiveness and track patient progress.
  • Recognize early warning signs of disease through tongue diagnosis and incorporate this knowledge into preventive care.
