Marc Kalan, M.D., is double board certified—in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, and in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Kalan completed a three-year fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of Southern California, where he also completed a four-year residency in OB/GYN, serving as Chief Resident in his senior year. Dr. Kalan earned his medical degree at the Chicago Medical School of Rosalind Franklin University and completed his undergraduate studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Dr. Kalan focuses on the treatment of infertility through a variety of modalities, including stimulated and natural IVF; genetic screening (PGD and gender selection); and oocyte cryopreservation. Additionally, Dr. Kalan is an accomplished micro-surgeon who is an expert at the art of tubal reanatomosis.
A peer-recognized, well-respected expert in natural human reproduction, Dr. Kalan has published extensively on topics such as polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) and IVF laboratory conditions, for which he won the University of Southern California’s prestigious Fellow Research Award in 2009. He also is called upon periodically by national and international media, including recurring interviews as a reproductive expert in TLC’s program, “I Didn’t Know I Was Pregnant.”
Dr. Kalan is caring, warm, approachable and funny. An excellent communicator who calms the anxieties of even the most nervous prospective moms and dads, Dr. Kalan works closely with his patients to develop individualized treatment plans.
