Mazin started his studies in the Chinese language and acupuncture in 1979. After completing a 3-year full time programme in acupuncture in the UK, he travelled to China where between 1983 and 1987 he spent 4 years studying Chinese medicine as well as further studies in the Chinese language. He enrolled in the Shanghai College of Traditional Chinese Medicine where he studied exclusively herbal medicine alongside Chinese students. Since his return to the UK in 1987, he has been in full time practice entirely devoted to three main areas – autoimmune disease, allergic disease, and skin disease.
He lectures widely all over the world on these subjects and over the past 18 years has run the Dermatology Diploma Programme in both Europe & North America (www.mazin-al-khafaji.com [1] other lectures are also available online), all graduates of this programme automatically becoming members of the International TCM Dermatology Association (www.tcmdermatology.org [2]).
He has developed the unique Dermatology-M range of topical products and herbal cosmetics from Chinese herbal ingredients to address many common skin disorders (www.dermatology-m.com [3]).
He is the author of numerous articles and co-author of the international textbook Manual of Acupuncture.
