Dr. Michelle Loy is a nationally recognized physician who received her magna cum laude degree in Psychology from Harvard College, MD from Weill Cornell Medical College, pediatrics residency training from New York Presbyterian Hospital-Cornell, and Integrative Medicine Fellowship training from Columbia University/Stamford Hospital. She completed certification in Medical Acupuncture from SUNY Downstate Medical Center. She is board certified in Integrative Medicine, Lifestyle Medicine, Medical Acupuncture, and Pediatrics.
Dr. Loy has achieved recognition in integrative medicine at national and international academic conferences. She serves as a board member for the American Board of Integrative Medicine, the program chair of the American Academy of Pediatrics Section of Integrative Medicine, secretary for the American College of Lifestyle Medicine Pediatric Medical Interest Group, and the Weill Cornell Medicine site representative for the BraveNet integrative medicine practice-based research network. She serves as an Associate Editor of Global Advances in Integrative Medicine, the flagship journal of the Academic Consortium of Integrative Medicine.
She provides integrative medicine consultations at Weill Cornell Medicine/NYP Hospital to solve challenging clinical problems across the spectrum of general and subspecialty pediatric, adolescent, and adult medicine. An associate professor with joint appointments in Medicine and Pediatrics, she is a respected leader in integrative medicine education and mentors medical students, residents, and fellows both at her institution and nationally through the Andrew Weill Center for Integrative Medicine fellowship program. Her clinical and research interests include Nutrition, particularly Culinary and Botanical Medicine, Integrative Oncology, Women’s and Children’s Health, TCM (Acupuncture, Qi Gong, Dietary Therapy), Yoga, Narrative Medicine, Shared Medical Appointments, and clinician wellness.
Dr. Loy serves as faculty for the Plant-Based Nutrition Certificate Program (Cornell University and International Plant Based Nutrition and Health Conference (Plantrician Project). She serves on the board of directors for Plant Powered Metro New York, medical advisory board for T Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition, and Hear Your Song Medical Advisory Council. In her recreational time, she enjoys reading, swimming, running, exploring farmer’s markets, and creating healthful, whole-food, plant-forward meals for her husband and five children.
