COURSE DESCRIPTION:
As more cancer patients turn to cannabis for relief and support, practitioners need clear, evidence-based guidance on when and how to recommend it safely. *Cannabis in Oncology: Safe and Effective Use for Cancer Patients* provides a comprehensive overview of cannabis use in oncology, including its therapeutic applications, contraindications, and safety considerations. Participants will gain practical tools for integrating cannabis into cancer care, with a focus on enhancing quality of life, supporting treatment, and avoiding harmful interactions.

This course will cover the pharmacology of cannabis in cancer patients, guidelines on when it is and is not appropriate, and practical methods for preparing medicine. Special attention will be given to cannabis interactions with conventional oncology drugs, as well as the cautions and contraindications practitioners must recognize. By the end, participants will gain a solid foundation in the safe and effective use of cannabis for cancer patients and be better prepared to explore its integration into supportive care.

Upon completion of this course, practitioners will:

  • Explain the role of cannabis in oncology and its potential therapeutic benefits for cancer patients.
  • Identify when cannabis use is appropriate or inappropriate and recognize key cautions and contraindications.
  • Prepare cannabis medicine safely and effectively for cancer patients.
  • Recognize and manage potential interactions between cannabis and conventional oncology medications.
