Dr. Amy E. Mager, DACM, Lic. Ac., Dipl. OM (NCCAOM), FABORM, CLC has been licensed to practice acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine since 1990. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from Brandeis University, graduating Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa, a Master of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine from ACTCM in 1989, and her Doctorate in Acupuncture, Chinese Medicine, and Integrative Medicine from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in 2017. She has maintained a private practice in California and Massachusetts for over 34 years and is trained as a Birth and End of Life Doula, Childbirth Educator, Lactation Counselor, and certified hypnotist. Dr. Mager is the founder and director of multiple community and women’s wellness acupuncture clinics and has extensive experience supporting IVF, IUI, prenatal, and postpartum care.
Dr. Mager has a distinguished record in professional leadership and advocacy. She serves as Chair of the American Society of Acupuncturists Federal Advocacy Committee and has held numerous leadership roles including Legislative Co-Chair of the Acupuncture Society of Massachusetts, Vice Chair of Public Policy for the ASA, and board member for Safe Passage and Acupuncturists Without Borders. She is a member of the NCCAOM Foundations of Oriental Medicine exam development committee and State Relations Task Force. She regularly testifies at the Massachusetts State House and organizes large-scale acupuncture advocacy events, including Acupuncture for Our Public Servants on Capitol Hill, providing legislative education and live demonstrations.
As an educator and lecturer, Dr. Mager has taught at Atlantic Symposium, NYTCM, and numerous midwifery and wellness programs. She has published in books and journals and contributed to national educational and policy documents. Her work bridges traditional Chinese medicine and integrative care, focusing on women’s health, reproductive medicine, pain management, and public policy advocacy. Dr. Mager is committed to empowering both patients and practitioners through education, clinical excellence, and evidence-based advocacy.
