This course begins with an introduction to Evidence-Based practice and an overview of the DSM-V perspective on Depression disorders. Following with the key biological factors of etiology in depression will be outlined. Next, an Evidence-Based practice model will be developed through the review of current and historically significant research on acupuncture and depression. After the research review, an Evidence-Based treatment template will be introduced and applied through case study analysis. At the conclusion of the course, one should be confident in having a strong Evidence-Based approach to treating depression with acupuncture.
