50 CEU required every 2 years on the last day of your birth month for renewal.

All California acupuncture licensees shall complete 50 hours every two years as a condition of renewal with the California Acupuncture Board. Acupuncture CEUs for CA include live continuing education courses (Live CEU webinars) and distance continuing education courses (CEU Videos, Audios, and Articles).

  • At least 25 hrs MUST be live, real time interaction. Live Webinars

  • A maximum of 5 hrs can fall under Category 2, which is non-patient oriented courses such as business, practice management, and exercise (ex. qi gong) courses. (Please use the filter options on the right side panel to find these courses.)

NCCAOM Provider #344

60 PDA required every 4 years for renewal.

NCCAOM Diplomates require 60 PDA points or CEU credits in a four-year NCCAOM recertification cycle. Diplomates are required to complete a CPR course plus a minimum of 30 PDA points/ CEU credits in Core Competency coursework in the following areas: AOM-ABT-BIO (> 22), Safety (> 2), and Ethics (> 2).

eLotus will report your PDAs directly to NCCAOM. To ensure automated reporting of approved PDA points for PDA approved courses to the NCCAOM® Recertification Transcript, be sure your eLotus 'My Profile' includes your first and last name and NCCAOM ID number (3 to 6 digits ONLY, no letters/characters or leading zeroes) as recorded in your NCCAOM Certification account. If your state accepts NCCAOM approved courses, please select NCCAOM as your license board in your eLotus 'My Profile'.

30 CEU required by February 28, 2022 for renewal.

Licensees of the Florida Board of Acupuncture are required to renew their licenses biennially in order to maintain the right to practice. 30 CEU credits are required in a two-year FL acupuncture CE cycle. Licensees are required to complete at least 21 General hours, 2 Laws and Rules, 5 Biomedical Sciences, and 2 Medical Errors. eLotus reports your CE directly the FL CE broker for your convenience!

Each licensee or certificate holder shall complete a board-approved, 1 hour continuing education course on human trafficking. The course may be included in the total general hours required and must be completed by January 1, 2021. Required in accordance with Section 456.0341, Florida Statutes.*Note: The 1 hour of Human Trafficking is included in the required general hours.

Completed Course Credits are automatically reported to CE Broker. Please be sure to indicate you would like CEUs reported by selecting "YES" in the course evaluation after taking the quiz.

Texas State Board of Acupuncture Examiners Logo

34 CEU required by Nov 30, every 2 years.

Texas acupuncturists will need to complete at least 34 hours of continuing acupuncture education every 24 months. To ensure compliance with the Texas State Board of Acupuncture Examiners Rules, the 34 hours of acupuncture CE courses for TX must include at least 8 hours in general acupuncture therapies, 2 hours in ethics and safety, 6 hours in herbology, and 4 hours of biomedicine.

To ensure compliance with Board Rules, the 34 hours must include the following core hours:

Other course requirements:

  • No more than 4 hours in courses that primarily relate to business practices or office administration
  • No more than a total of 16 hours per year completed under NCCAOM or provided outside the United States/li>
  • At least 18 hours each year must be approved for credit by the Education Committee of the board, offered by approved providers, or approved for CAE for 3 years by another state
  • The HHSC approved human trafficking prevention course may be counted as part of this 18 hrs.

A minimum of five hours CPD must be in an interactive setting with other practitioners, and includes at least four of the CPD hours related to professional issues (e.g. TCM courses).

  • Renewal fee is required each year.
  • In the 2-year reporting period, a minimum of 6 out of 50 hours have to be in person (face-to-face) and they may be activities under categories A and/or C. A minimum of 4 hours must focus on ethical practice.
  • Compliance with the Continuing Competency Requirements Policy is required for renewing registration with the College.
  • Category A includes “direct participatory, formal programs” that include live in-person or online interactive workshops, seminars, or training when attendance is taken and monitored; or electronically offered continuing education when attendance is taken and monitored and when there is an assessment tool for the course.
  • Category B includes “self study” such as review of academic journals, professional publications, bylaws and standards, and include online and distance learning courses and webinars when no attendance is taken and/or when no assessment tool is available.
  • Category C includes “structured interactive activities” which can be regularly scheduled or routine consultations with peers or case conferences.
