COURSE DESCRIPTION:
An important part of cancer care is symptom management. Providing cancer patients with physical symptom relief in addition to emotional support is vital. This course is designed for licensed acupuncturists to safely care for cancer patients undergoing Western treatments by providing Chinese Medicine for symptom relief and side effects management. If you are working with cancer patients in any conventional medicine setting, this class is essential for you.

Participants will learn from a western medicine standpoint of how cancer is detected, basic treatment protocols for cancer, and most importantly, learn the details of how to manage major side effects associated with usual cancer treatments. Once participants have a firm understanding of what cancer patients typically undergo in conventional medicine, we will look at TCM options that have been shown to provide relief. This course will delve into analyzing and evaluating current research using acupuncture as a pain- and symptom-management method.

Upon completion of this course, practitioners will:

  • Understand basics of how cancer is detected according to western medicine
  • Learn research studies and treatment protocols for cancer side effects

Many of my patients with cancer are suffering from the unpleasant side effects of chemotherapy and radiation. I have to get australian writing for help in essay. This is an expected result of cancer treatment, but it doesn't mean one has to suffer from it. Acupuncture and herbs are two of the ways that can help relieve these side effects, including pain, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, anemia, and constipation.
