Pulse diagnosis traditionally has been revered as Chinese Medicine's cardinal diagnostic practice by many Chinese medical scholars. However, because of the difficulty in mastering pulse taking, pulse diagnosis has unfortunately been reduced to confirming a diagnosis arrived by other diagnostic techniques, rather than being a reliable diagnostic tool in itself.

In this Pulsynergy Made Easy series, you will learn how to effectively utilize pulse taking to its full diagnostic potential from Jimmy Wei-Yen Chang, one of the very few (if not the only one) who knows and is willing to teach you the invaluable knowledge of how to integrate TCM pulse taking into diagnosing western biomedical conditions. Furthermore, Dr. Chang shares with you his thinking behind how he prescribes herbal formulations based on both TCM and western perspectives.

In Pulsynergy Made Easy Part I, Dr. Chang explains the fundamentals of pulse taking, including the precise cun, guan, chi locations, finger positions, and organ correlations, and various aspects of the pulse (shape, jump, level, speed, amplitude). This part I portion will provide you with the basics to start utilizing Dr. Chang's pulse taking technique in your clinic!

BONUS
As an added bonus, Dr. Chang goes into the theoretical foundation of his pulse taking system. Dr. Chang covers the Wu Zang Mai (Five Organ Pulses), the body's original 'normal' pulses, which represents the exemplary physiological functioning of the body's organs; the Liu Qi Mai (Six Qi Pulses), the pulses which identify distortions to the body's homeostasis due to exogenous factors, such as dryness, cold, dampness; and the Liu Bing Mai (Six Pathological Pulses), pathological pulses in accordance to a yin and yang framework.

Upon completion of this course, practitioners will:

  • Be familiar with Dr. Chang's pulse diagnosis and techniques
  • Know the difference between jump and shape of pulses
  • Know what are the Wu Zang Mai, Liu Qi Mai, and Liu Bing Mai
