In honor of the legendary late Dr. Richard Tan, this is a rebroadcast from May 2, 2009.

We are greatly indebted to Dr. Tan’s family for their permission to rebroadcast his classes. eLotus is honored to be part of Dr. Tan’s legacy, as we share the same vision in dedicating ourselves to the preservation and continuation of TCM wisdom. The best kind of knowledge is shared, passed on, translated into the healing of patients, and the furthering of our TCM profession.

Dr. Richard Tan is the author of Dr. Tan's Internal Showcase: The Global Balance Method, Acupuncture 1,2,3, Twelve and Twelve in Acupuncture, Twenty-Four More in Acupuncture, Dr. Tan's Strategy of Twelve Magical Points, and Shower of Jewels. As the inventor of the Balance Method, the late Dr. Tan is a world-renowned acupuncturist known for his immediate and effective results from the very first treatment, especially in conditions of pain.

In this course, Dr. Tan extended his teaching of the Balance Method to include the explanations and application of Master Tung’s acupuncture points. Dr. Tan explained the rationale behind the great success of Master Tung’s points based on his five systems of the Balance Method and the mirror and imaging theories. The emphasis of this presentation will be on Master Tung’s points of the lower body such as the legs and feet.

Upon completion of this course, practitioners will:

  • Know the history of Master Tung's acupuncture
  • Be able to locate Master Tung's acupuncture points on the lower parts of the body
  • Know the applications and needling techniques of the lower body points in Master Tung's acupuncture system
