In this course, Dr. Jake Fratkin gives an introduction to treating the cardiovascular and endocrine systems. Currently cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the leading cause of death in the developed world and adrenal fatigue is the basis for a variety of problems in people after the age of 40, including low thyroid, low immune function, blood sugar regulation, and fatigue. Dr. Fratkin will share in detail the TCM understanding of Thoracic Bi Syndrome (Chest Pain), which includes angina and congestive heart failure, examining in depth various Chinese herbal formulas for its treatment. Dr. Fratkin will also examine the causes of adrenal fatigue, its consequences on the endocrine system in Western physiology, and the Chinese medicine approaches to diagnosis and differentiation.

Upon completion of this course, practitioners will:

  • Identify the causes of cardiovascular disease according to modern biomedicine.
  • Understand the interpretation of important lab values in diagnosis and management of cardiovascular heart disease.
  • Identify the causes of adrenal fatigue and its relation to endocrine function according to modern biomedicine.
  • Know the Chinese medicine approaches to diagnosis and differentiation for adrenal fatigue.
