In the modern world, a patient will usually present with multiple problems or conditions, so where do you start your treatment? Or what happens when the treatment that normally works does not? Heather Bruce, an Acupuncturist for nearly 40 years, was trained in the Dr. Van Buren and Dr. John Shen styles of acupuncture, and has been researching what may be blocking the patient’s own innate healing.

In this course, Heather focuses on the importance of Qi and how it fits in modern context, the causes of diseases, naval cupping and gua sha techniques, the meaning of scars on meridians, the connection of life stressors and qi blockage, how to remove blockage in the body, and clinical tools to remove blockage.

Part II of this course is not required but is highly recommended for an optimal learning experience. Click here to see Part II course description and register.

Upon completion of this course, practitioners will:

  • Understand the importance of Qi and how it fits in modern context
  • See alternatives to orthodox TCM treatment when they were ‘not working as planned’
  • Recognize blockages that may be interfering with a successful protocol
