The focus of this course is on professional ethics and risk management in which participants will be able to understand their professional, ethical and legal responsibilities in treating patients in California and the U.S., including familiarity with the Clean Needle Technique Manual, 7th edition and the NCCAOM Code of Ethics. In addition, participants will learn how to implement business and clinical practice strategies and protocols to manage and minimize their professional, ethical and legal risks.

Upon completion of this course, practitioners will:

  • Know and be able to understand their professional, ethical and legal responsibilities in treating patients in California and the U.S., including familiarity with the Clean Needle Technique Manual, 7th edition and the NCCAOM Code of Ethics.
  • Know and be able to implement business and clinical practice strategies and protocols to manage and minimize their professional, ethical and legal risks
  • Understand how to minimizing risks of medical malpractice and recognizing and managing high-risk patients

This course was incredibly insightful and far more practical than I expected. The case studies on dual relationships were particularly eye-opening for my practice.
