Bloodletting is an essential part of acupuncture therapy, and has been since its inception

Knowing this, based on the best evidence and practices we have today, how can we safely perform the therapy in our clinics?

Participants will learn the safe application of bloodletting, possible adverse events, hand sanitation and skin preparation, how to handle needlestick injuries, and how to handle blood or Other Potentially Infectious Material (OPIM).

Note: State regulatory boards and agencies have differing perspectives on whether bloodletting is appropriately part of your acupuncture scope of practice. Understanding this skill and its therapeutic value does not guarantee that it is legal for you to practice it in your area.
