Heng-Wei Chang 張恆偉, TCM Doctor (Taiwan)

As a child, Dr. Heng-Wei Chang was constantly sick so he vowed to be a TCM doctor one day. As an engineering major in college, he met his first TCM teacher in 1997 and began to pursue his dream of becoming a TCM doctor.

After college, he enrolled at China Medical University in Taiwan. After receiving his degree and license, he became the attending physician, and subsequently, the Chief Resident of the Department of Acupuncture at his alma mater. Dr. Chang was very active in spreading the pearls of TCM and participated in numerous speaking events. He became the Vice-Secretary-General of the Chinese Medical Association of Acupuncture in Taiwan and is currently the Chairperson of the Traditional Chinese Medical Essence Association.

In Dr. Chang’s private practice at Heng Yuan Tang Chinese Medical Clinic, he treats over 70 patients daily. His specialty is in post stroke and brain injury patients. His treatment concept includes balancing the 5 Zang organs with current medical knowledge to improve the patient’s overall health. The focus is to not merely alleviate symptoms, but to re-establish balance in the body so they don’t have to seek medical attention.

中醫師張恆偉（臺灣）

「三折肱成良醫」，針灸甲乙經的作者黃甫謐因罹患風痹痛苦不堪而立志學醫，最後他不僅成為名醫，也留下了千古不朽的著作。如同黃甫謐一樣，張恆偉醫師自小體弱，曾被戲稱為東亞病夫，但他亦立下宏願，要成為一個視病猶親的中醫師，並將中醫發揚光大，提升中醫國際地位。
如同武俠小說「笑傲江湖」令狐沖遇到風清揚才習得獨孤九劍縱橫江湖一樣，在台灣成功大學工程科學系就讀期間，張醫師很幸運地在1997年遇到了他一輩子的恩師:隱師徐明醫，並習得正統中醫學歸納整理、創新而成的五臟平衡脈法、針法、中藥學。

大學畢業，當兵退伍後，他考入了臺灣中國醫藥大學學士後中醫系，進入學院體系，畢業後順利進入中國醫藥大學附設醫院中醫部擔任針灸科住院醫師、針灸科及中醫部總醫師，最後成為了主治醫師。

在醫院行醫期間，他致力於急重症住院患者的會診治療，從加護病房到一般病房，治療意識不清、腦中風、腦外傷、呼吸衰竭、疑難雜症..等患者以針灸與中藥並用屢建奇效，挽救眾多患者於危殆之中，視病猶親的態度廣受患者家屬肯定，以針藥治療腦中風、腦傷累積數萬人次，實務經驗豐富。

在醫院行醫期間，張醫師考上中國醫藥大學中醫系博士班，並發表論文Association between chronic idiopathic urticaria and hypertension:A population-based retrospective cohort study於國際性的醫學期刊「Annals of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology」，成為博士資格候選人。

張醫師非常積極於宣傳中醫寶貴的文化並參與了許多演講活動，張醫師曾任中華針灸醫學會副秘書長，後來自己創立了中醫奧義醫學會，擔任創會理事長，並開始教授傳統、正統、邏輯性、實用的五臟平衡針法、五臟平衡臨床中藥學..等臨床應用課程，學員眾多，廣受好評。另外，也成立網路「恆元堂中醫學院」(https://hytschool.com.tw)讓全世界有心學中醫的朋友，不管距離多遠，都能透網路上學習張醫師教授的課程。

在張醫師執醫的恆元堂中醫私人診所，作為院長的他每天要看診70多名患者。他擅長中風與腦傷後遺癥的患者的中醫治療，對於一般內婦兒科亦甚為擅長，他的治療理念包括了利用當今社會的醫學知識來平衡五臟，強調健康五要素，飲食、作息、運動、正確就醫、心情愉快五要素均衡，以此來改善患者的整體健康狀況。這麽做的重點不僅僅可以緩解癥狀，而更進壹步的是重建身體的平衡，使他們未來不會再生病。
